Duo

Curious_Andy_07-20-08Hi Joy,
I have attached a few pictures of Duo – the Australian Shepard we adopted last Saturday.  We have decided to give him another name – Andy – he knows it already! He’s so smart.
Thanks for all you do for the dogs and pups, glad we stumbled upon you in the park!
Sincerely,
Laura & Pat

Savannah

Gracie_and_Savannah_in_actionJust wanted to drop you a note to tell you how Savannah is doing.   She is the most fantastic little dog.    Extremely smart.  I ended up getting another dog about a month after we got Savannah.   She’s an english setter about the same age as Savannah named Gracie Louise.   They are the best of friends.   They play just about all day long.

Savannah is a little spitfire.   She can hold her own.   She isn’t timid at all although she is a little cautious with strangers.  She’s a tough little cookie.  AND she will eat anytime anywhere and just about anything.   Nothing finicky about her.   I think we’ve put some pounds on her.   She especially likes duck tenders.

Jamie

jamieUpdate on Jamie who we renamed Harri.  This is a picture of her on our dinghy in Newport, RI.  Everywhere we go people stop us and ask what kind of dog she is, she is so unique.  She is very lovable, smart, has learned her name, doesn’t leave the yard and jumps from the dock to the dinghy and the dinghy to the boat like she’s been doing it for years.  We start puppy obedience school this Tuesday and I’m sure she’ll wow them.  We are still having a little trouble housetraining her but we are definitely seeing progress.  The good news is that she doesn’t get car sick anymore.  She’s the best and we are very pleased with this new joy in our lives.  Keep up your good work.  Sue

Cookie

cookie-300x295Dear Joy,
Just wanted to drop a line and let you know how “Charlie/Murphy/Cookie”
is doing. Truth is he doesn’t answer to anything – he just always comes
when he hears my voice. Cookie is doing great, he is a cute as can be,
and adjusting very well. He is working through his “issues” and most of
the time is just plain silly. His male aggresion has really lightened
up since his “adjustment”, and he is much more relaxed. He is still a
runner however, and, probably always will be. I will attach a recent
photo. We are enjoying him a great deal and he is a good companion, a
shadow couldn’t stay closer. Also, he is a very good eater and may even
be getting a little chunky, it looks good on him.
Have a great summer. I haven’t forgotten your invitation to help with
the adoption fairs. I would love to help as soon as I get some fires
put out here at home. It would be my pleasure.
Blessings,
Diane

Charlie

doggiesswimming-300x176Hey Joy!

I wanted to send you a picture of Charlie swimming with his sister Ella!  We take the pups swimming everyday and Charlie will sit at the door everyday until we do!  Ella (our five year old lab) loves Charlie so much and is actually very protective over him.  They are so cute together.  Charlie is such a wonderful dog and we love him so much!

Gena and Gabe

Baby Girl

babygirlI thought you would like to see these pictures of Baby Girl.  She is such a delight!  She is playful and loves her new brother, Charley (the hound dog.)  I am so excited because she is growing taller and gaining more weight and muscle.  She seems to be happy with her new home and has brought us so much joy.
Thank you so much for rescuing her!

Odie

Odie-300x225Just wanted to drop you folks a line to let you know that Loki (formerly Odie) is well and very happy.  He walked into my backyard and when he met my other 2 dogs, Lucy and Bronson, they all started chasing each other and playing within about 30 seconds.
My dogs are referred to at the local dog park as the Malachis.  The Malachi Brothers were characters on an episode of Happy Days where Fonzie was in a demolition derby  Their patented move was the Malachi Crunch.  They would attack a driver from 2 opposing directions and SMASH them.  Lucy and Bronson work in a very similar manner, the work as a team, one distracts, the other one attacks.  They spend alot of their time running and chasing their friends.  I was a little worried Loki might need a little time to fit in. Boy was I wrong, he understood instantly and joined right in and chased our friend Synder (a 100 lb. Australian Shepherd/Lab mix) and took her down.  HIs pack includes my guys, Synder, Chester (a jack Russell) and Stoagie (a Jack/Corgie).  He loves his new friends.  I named him Loki after the Norse God of mischief of the same name.  The gods were supposed to leave their realm of Asgard and travel to Earth via a bridge composed of a rainbow.  After the park, we stopped at the local Petsmart to stock up, and when we came out, a rainbow was right over my truck.  I take that as a good omen.  I just wanted to thank you all again for the great work that you’re doing.  Keep it up!
